Year Six Residential

Year Six Residential October 2014

This year, our Year Six residential trip took place from Monday 6th October to Friday 10th October as part of our 'Who am I?' project. 25 children and 4 staff from Year Six headed off to Winmarleigh Hall in Preston for a week of outdoor activities and lots of fun! The children took part in lots of activities from quad biking, to fencing and rock climbing to the zip wire. Everyone even got to take part in canoeing on the lake (with many people who ended up in the lake too!) The children also had a programme of very exciting activities in the evening, they took part in a campfire, Robot Wars and even got to 'get their own back' on the their teachers with lots of freezing cold water!

The week away has been truly unforgettable and we are very proud of the children who came with us. They tackled everything with confidence and enthusiasm and gave everything a go.

Have a look at the photos below to see what a good time we had!

Year Six Residential May 2014

We have just arrived back from our week long residential trip to the PGL Centre in Shropshire. This is the first time that the Year Six residential has been a week long as we desperately wanted to get more time to do lots of activities. The week has been absolutely amazing and the children have had the time of their lives. We have seen children leap from great heights on the trapeze challenge, climb up walls, go kayaking and canoeing and even learn how to do some archery and riffle shooting. The trip has been so successful that we have already booked next year's which will take place from Monday 6th October to Friday 10th October.

Have a look at a selection of the photographs below to see what the children and their teachers have been up to!

Our Year 6 Residential began in October 2012. It was the first time in a few years that the Year Six children from Broadfield had all been away together on a residential trip. The trip ran with the aims of developing many of the personal skills that the children will need in later life; teamwork, resilience, determination and it build up great friendships.

Our first trip was to the Kingswood Centre about an hour away from school and it ran for two nights and three days. The children and staff had an amazing time and it was such a good foundation to build the rest of Year Six on.

We feel that the Year Six residential trip is an important part of the children's last year at Broadfield and we encourage as many children as possible to go.

Here are some photos from our first residential.
