At Broadfield, we are determined to give your child the best possible set of skills for their future endeavours. Therefore, in computing we want to ensure that all pupils become digitally literate – able to use, and express themselves and develop their ideas through, information and communication technology – and be active participants in a digital world.
EYFS and Key Stage One students, will learn all about the technology around them and start to develop their digital literacy journey, this might be by learning how to document their learning through the use of a camera, as we a place an important focus into cross-curricular learning at our school as it keeps children constantly reviewing and developing their knowledge.
In Key Stage Two, your child will learn the importance of staying safe online, which is more important than ever. If you wish to find out more, please visit Keeping children safe online | NSPCC. In addition to following the National Curriculum topics, (Coding, Programming, Computer Networks) children will also have a digital foundation unit where they get to grips with a program which will build their digital literacy and teach them skills to express themselves digtally.
