Attendance at school is very important – if children aren’t in school, they can’t learn and this reduces the opportunities they have to experience success in life. At Broadfield we strive to achieve the best possible whole school attendance and we celebrate those children who have attended every day and who have been on time.
We recognise that working with parents to ensure their child’s attendance and punctuality is the best it can be is crucial and our Well Being Team work with a number of agencies to support families who struggle to get their children in to school.
Attendance is a key priority for our school and our work on improving attendance was recognised at our most recent Ofsted Inspection, “Despite the consistent and concerted efforts of leaders and the Well-being Team, the proportion of pupils who are persistently absent from school remains stubbornly high. This has a negative impact on pupils’ learning and achievement. Leaders must continue to reduce persistent absenteeism to give these pupils the best possible chance in life.”
We will continue to work with our families to improve attendance so that all of our children have the same opportunities to reach their potential and have the best possible chances in life.
Below you will find some useful information about attendance and you will find out all about our positive rewards for those children who have an attendance record that meets our expectations.
